Unlocking The Power Of The Subconscious Mind

. Wednesday, August 6, 2008

by: Gregory Frost

The key to making your subconscious mind work for you is in your attitude. Having a positive self-esteem and confidence in yourself can go a long way towards achieving the goals that you have set out for your mind. Whilst many people believe that confidence and esteem comes with your personality, which is determined at birth, it is not true. It is never too late to start cultivating and improving your inner image and resources, primarily that of your subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is an amazing resource that is able to store memories that have been long forgotten. It has a strong effect on the conscious mind, although it is not able to think or reason, taking direction from the conscious mind instead. However, it is possible to reach the subconscious mind and make it work for you. Many methods are available for doing so, such as through hypnosis, subliminal programming and positive affirmations.

The most common and easy to master technique of reaching the subconscious is through positive affirmations. Whether for losing weight or increasing self confidence, positive affirmations can be applied to any aspect of your life. By inculcating a positive self esteem and confidence in your subconscious, you will be able to affect the conscious mind as well.

The subconscious mind is thus, more powerful and effective than most people give it credit for. For example, positive affirmation simply activates the subconscious mind to allow it to function at its peak, handling the everyday matters. It is able to do so by imprinting messages into your subconscious through constant repetition.

By accessing your subconscious mind, you are strengthening the linkage between the conscious and the subconscious, allowing you to achieve many things. These include getting rid of negative thoughts, unhealthy habits, and boosting your self confidence and other abilities.

Unlocking the power of your subconscious mind is a simple process, requiring only your willingness and effort. Below are 3 simple steps you can take to start on making your subconscious mind work for you:

1. What Drives You

Identify the reason that motivates you to work hard and excel in life. Without knowing what makes you tick, you will be unable to recover the same level of drive when faced with setbacks or discouraged. Being able to unlock your subconscious mind depends on knowing what you want, before you can achieve it.

2. Create a Strategy

When you are able to identify what drives you, you will be better equipped to draw out your possible options and make the relevant decisions that will help you achieve your goals. Without a strategy, you will be unable to chart a clear path and risk going off track.

3. Perseverance and Passion

Once you have decided on a course of action, immerse yourself in it. With passion and a strong focus, you will be able to realize your goals, fueled by perseverance.

With these 3 steps, you will be well on your way towards unlocking the power of the subconscious mind and making it work for you.

Great Tips To Develop A Photographic Memory

.

by: Gregory Frost

You envy the guy at work who has a photographic memory, or perhaps, a friend who never forgets a name. Or maybe you’re tired of always trying to match the right face to the right name. Not only does intelligence matter in getting ahead in life, so do your memory, and the ability to use it right!

Below are 5 great tips to develop a photographic memory. Now you can be the envy of your colleagues, and you will be able to impress others with your quick recall abilities. Improving your brain and memory capacity has never been easier with these tips!

1) Be Discerning

Be able to discern what is important from what is not. Information is all around us, be it yesterday’s dinner conversation or the news today. It is experienced via sight and sound, and you are exposed to it all the time. It is easy to get carried away, what is often referred to as information overload. The ability to acquire knowledge, discern what is relevant to you, and keep that information is the key to success! Create an event tree, and make sure you focus on what knowledge you require. This will save you from being distracted due to curiosity and keep you focused on the topic at hand.

2) Choose a location wisely

If you cannot focus, you cannot learn. Simply because the information that you have acquired stays in the short term memory for only a very short period of time, and if you are unable to keep it in your long term memory you will not be able to recall the information that you need. Choosing a location is integral to this. If you are unable to concentrate in a noisy place, avoid doing your work in areas with a crowd such as the local café. Instead, pick a quite corner in the library where you are unlikely to be disturbed.

3) Visualization and Association

This is a technique that is often overlooked due to its simplicity. However, that’s what makes it so special! It is simple to pick up, and it works without fail. This is especially useful if you need to remember facts and details, and our brain is wired to recall images better than words. Unfortunately, most information is in the form of words on paper. With the V&A method, you can convert the words into pictures, or into simpler words that will ensure that you never have trouble recalling it. This method builds on information already stored in our long term memory, making it easier to transfer the new information from the short term to the long term memory.

4) Practice sharpening your mind

This can be done by using flashcards or drilling basic math everyday. The ease of calculators in doing our work has made our brains need to work less, and some adults find it difficult to do simple additions or multiplications. Basic math drills will ensure that your mind is kept alert, and math is also a basic logical process which with practice, will ensure that your mind is constantly sharp and active.

5) Take Simple Tests

Do not try to learn new information just by reading the textbook, or relegating it to rote memorization. By testing yourself or taking simple tests, you will be forced to apply the knowledge that you have read. This will imprint the knowledge more deeply into your memory, and will help you in not just being able to recall the information, but also in your application of it.

Whilst most people are taught that in order to remember, they need constant repetition, you will find that the above 5 tips will help you do without that tedious process, and save you a lot of time. Developing a photographic memory has never been easier with these 5 tips!

4 Powerful Steps To Gaining Confidence With Women

.

by: Gregory Frost

Dating is a source of recreation, and it is important to always keeping mind that it is also another way of getting to know and meet more people. This will make it less intimidating in going up to a woman and talking to her, if you tell yourself that it is pretty much the same as initiating a conversation with a stranger: scary, but not extremely so.

Men all over the world try endlessly to strike upon the right technique or pick up line, all to secure that first date, and then the subsequent and elusive second date. No technique or pick up line is going to work for you, if you lack self confidence. Women look for a man with value, who can contribute to a relationship. If you lack confidence, however, fret not. Below are 4 powerful steps to gaining confidence with women.

-Step 1: Online Dating -

Yes, laugh if you want. It is a fallacy that online dating is only for the old or the desperate, but this is not true. It is a great meeting ground for getting to know other people first, before deciding if it is someone you would like to meet in real life. It also gives you the opportunity to let the real you shine through, especially if you tend to seize up upon being in the presence of women. This should give you an indication of what dating is like face to face, it should be about getting to know the other person better, and not about using techniques to secure a second date.

-Step 2: Your Personality -

No one likes to hear someone spend the entire evening whining about the bitch at work, or how they deserved a promotion more than so-and-so. Similarly, keep the negativity away from your date: it is a sure conversation killer, and you can be assured that your date will never want to see you again. Be positive, and allow your personality to shine through. That is the major determinant on whether you will make it to a second date. Being positive and smiling will also help you to act more confident than you actually are, and confidence is a big draw for women.

-Step 3: Location -

Suggest a neutral location that your date will feel comfortable in. Pick somewhere central with people, so that she does not feel intimidated or threatened. However, do not go overboard and pick an overly crowded location. This will limit the conversation and the noise levels and crowd will reduce the interaction and opportunities for you to get to know each other. Plan out an activity that you think she will enjoy, such as going to the drive-in movies, or a board game café where you can spend quality time with privacy for conversation, without it being too threatening for her.

-Step 4: The Bill -

Always pay for the bill. Going Dutch is not an option on the first date, simply because manners dictate that the guy should pay for the dinner, or the movies. Paying for the bill without hesitation will also make your date feel like she is being treated like a princess, and that you value her company. It is also a subtle signal that you are a stable person who is capable of treating a woman right.

Follow these 4 simple steps to gaining confidence with women. Remember, it is not about tricks and techniques, it is about holding your nervousness at bay to allow the real you to establish a connection or rapport with your date.
